Everything you need to know about sending your quilt and getting it back safely.
Start with the contact form or call (303) 829-9987 before shipping. We'll confirm your pattern, thread color, timeline, and any add-ons. We reply the same day.
Press both your quilt top and backing. Trim loose threads from the back of your top. Cut your backing at least 6–8 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides. Do NOT layer or baste them together.
Place your quilt top and backing inside a sealed plastic bag to protect from moisture. Put the bag inside a sturdy cardboard box — no soft poly mailers. Include a note with your name, return address, and pattern preference.
Insure your package for the full value of your quilt materials and time. Use any carrier that offers tracking (USPS, UPS, FedEx). We strongly recommend insurance — it's inexpensive and worth it.
Once shipped, email your tracking number to tim@burtano.com so we can watch for arrival and have everything ready when your quilt gets here.
All finished quilts are returned via UPS Ground — reliable, scan-by-scan tracking, and photo proof of delivery on every shipment.
Every return shipment includes $100 of UPS insurance at no charge. We recommend additional insurance for quilts valued over $200.
Return shipping is charged at the actual UPS rate — no handling fee, no markup. What UPS charges us is exactly what we charge you.
We ship your quilt back within 3–5 business days of receiving it. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as it ships.
