Professional computerized longarm quilting — shipped back to you in 3 to 5 business days from anywhere in the country.
I served 5½ years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. After that I owned a software company for decades — writing the code alongside my partner. When I retired I needed something to do with my hands and my time — and I found quilting. That was over four years ago. I haven't looked back since.
Today I run a small, personal longarm quilting studio out of my home with a computerized longarm machine and a 10-needle embroidery machine. I also make handmade fabric rope rugs, one at a time, by hand.
But what I'm probably most proud of is this: I have never turned a quilt away. Not for imperfect piecing, not for wonky borders, not for loose seams. Every quilt that arrives here gets quilted.
I also donate my longarm quilting service to Quilts of Valor. I watched a lot of Vietnam-era veterans come home to nothing — no recognition, no thank-you, nothing. QOV is my way of helping fix that. The local chapters piece the tops; I donate my machine time and skill to quilt them — 5 to 8 quilts every single month. If you know a veteran who deserves one, you can nominate them at quiltsofvalor.org.
Ship us your quilt top and backing. We'll quilt it on our computerized longarm and return it in 3–5 business days via UPS. Any size, any pattern. No quilt ever refused.
One-of-a-kind handmade rugs in any size and color. Choose from preset palettes, describe your room for a custom match, or send us your own jelly roll fabric.
Monogramming, personalized gifts, custom quilt labels, and more — from our 10-needle commercial embroidery machine. Launching Month 4.
Many longarm quilters refuse quilts with imperfect piecing, wonky borders, or loose seams. Not here. Every quilt that arrives gets quilted — period. Beginner quilters with imperfect tops are warmly welcomed. Wonky borders and wavy edges are worked with, not rejected.
Send us your first quilt and your per-square-inch rate is locked in — forever. As long as you send at least one quilt every 12 months, you will never pay more than you did on your very first order. Any size quilt. Any pattern. Same rate every time.
Refer a quilting friend and earn a free trim & square on a future quilt. They get 10% off their first order. Refer 5 friends total and earn a free quilting reward you can use on a future quilt of your choice.
For rugs: refer a friend and you both get 20% off your next order.
While most longarm quilters make you wait weeks or months, we turn your quilt around in 3–5 business days from the day we receive it.
Use the quilt order form to send your size, pattern preference, special needs, and deadline. We reply the same day — messages received after 5pm will be answered first thing the next morning.
We confirm your timeline, pattern, thread color, add-ons, and payment timing. Once confirmed, we give you our address and you're clear to ship.
Ship your quilt top and backing (NOT layered) with tracking. Email us your tracking number so we can watch for arrival.
After the quilt arrives and is inspected, Tim sends a secure Square invoice. Once paid, we quilt your top and ship back via UPS Ground.

I served 5½ years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. I know a lot of those men and women who came back and got no recognition at all for their service. This is my way of making that right — one quilt at a time.
I served 5½ years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. When those veterans came home, a lot of them got nothing — no parades, no thank-yous, no recognition for what they gave. That always stayed with me.
When I discovered Quilts of Valor, I knew immediately it was something I needed to be part of. Local QOV chapters piece the quilt tops. I donate my longarm quilting service — my machine time and my skill — to quilt them. Then I return each finished quilt back to the chapter, and they complete it with binding and a label before presenting it to a veteran.
Five to eight quilts every month, finished and ready to be presented to a service member or veteran as a tangible, lasting symbol that says: we see you, we remember, and we're grateful.
It's the most important work I do.
When you hire Old Man Quilting, you're supporting a veteran who gives back. The revenue from customer quilts and rug sales helps fund thread, machine maintenance, and the time it takes to donate my quilting service to QOV month after month.
Quilts of Valor is a nationally recognized nonprofit that presents quilts to service members and veterans who have been touched by war — as a tangible symbol of honor, gratitude, and recognition for their sacrifice.
If you know a service member — active duty, retired, or honorably discharged — you can go to the Quilts of Valor website and nominate them to receive their own quilt. It costs nothing. You just need to know them.
It doesn't matter how long ago they served or where. If they wore the uniform and you think they deserve to be recognized, that's enough. The QOV community will take it from there.
A lot of Vietnam-era veterans especially never got the recognition they deserved when they came home. If you know someone like that — a neighbor, a father, a friend, anyone — please consider nominating them. It means more than you might imagine.
